Marlene K. Wheelus, 69, of Hastings, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at St. Augustine Health & Rehab Center following an extended illness. She was a native of Duluth, MN and had been a resident of Hastings for the past 37 years coming from Kissimmee. She worked as a retail manager for Pic N’ Save. Marlene was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Moose Lodge #184 and St. Monica Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Helen Sanford, brothers, Dennis and Boyd Sanford, niece, Roberta Sanford and nephew, Joseph Sanford. Marlene is survived by her children, Jessica Carter, David Wheelus and Donald Tolliver, brother, Grant Sanford, grandchildren, Karen Nieves (Luis), Karie Holmes (Derrik), Hannah Wheelus, Destinee Tolliver, Rodger Carter, Jr. (Amanda), Matthew Carter, Jonathon Carter (Catherine), niece, Joy Sanford, nephews, Adam and Joshua Sanford, numerous great-grandchildren, great-nieces and nephews and many friends. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Palatka Horseman Club, 181 Horseman Club Rd., Palatka, FL 32177.
