Minnie Latrelle Taylor, 83, of Palatka, passed from this life on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness. A native of Alma, Georgia, she resided in Putnam County since 1950 coming from Alma. Latrelle was a homemaker and dedicated mother in her children’s lives, serving as homeroom mother, accompanying them on field-trips and supporting them in scouting over the years. In her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking and making candy, gardening and ceramics. Latrelle was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, David Edward “D.E.” Taylor, her parents, Oliver E. Stewart and Nora Meeks Stewart as well as a grandson, Jasen Coker.
Latrelle is survived by 4 daughters, Kathy Taylor-Meyer (Robert ) of Hollister, Karen Fortner of Palatka, Sherry Nadler (Jason) of Hollister and Lisa Kalaczynski (James Suckow) of Palatka, 3 sisters, Willene Varnadore (Billy) of Alma, GA, Shirley Saunders of Palatka and Judy Boatright (Danny) of Alma, GA, 8 Grandchildren, Joshua Fortner (Samantha), Kaleigh Hart (Jonathan), Reese Taylor, Blakelyn Hoyt (Ken), Falyn Teuton (Jeb), Auston Kalaczynski, Skyler Kalaczynski and Peyton Kalaczynski, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services celebrating Latrelle’s life will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Pastor Terry Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Palatka Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services at 2:00 P.M.
