Polly O. Newlon, 65, of Interlachen, passed from this life on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness. A native of Grundy, Virginia, she resided in Putnam County for 50 years. Polly had worked as a caregiver and prior to that as a waitress and at Publix. She was of the Baptist faith. In her leisure, Polly enjoyed cooking, fishing, camping and making quilts. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Polly Mae Sadler, her identical twin sister, Molly Messer, another sister, Shirley Owens and a brother, Rick Owens. Polly is survived by 2 sons, George Franklin Cason, III of West Virginia and David Cason of Interlachen, a brother, Raymond Owens of Interlachen, 3 sisters, Kay Owens, Loetta O’Quinn and Perly Johns, all of Palatka and a granddaughter, Melanie Coates of Hawthorne. Services were held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Elder Sam Short officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family received friends Monday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
