Obituary
Brenda Jefferson Brown was born in East Dublin, Georgia, to the parentage of late Ruby Dell and Quinton Jefferson. She was one of ten children born to this holy union. During childhood, her parents instilled in her the values of an education and serving the community. This blueprint aided in her receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Savannah State University in 1981 and earning membership in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., an organization founded on principles of scholarship, service, sisterhood and finer womanhood. Brenda furthered her academic career by obtaining a Master’s degree in Education from Fort Valley State University. God blessed her to wed Willie Eugene Brown on June 13th, 1984, producing two heirs. She effortlessly gave a collective 34 years as a devoted Educator to both Georgia and Florida school systems. Her vision was to challenge each of her students to develop socially, emotionally and intellectually to their highest potential. Brenda made her dignified transition on Saturday, January 23rd, on a tranquil afternoon in Pembroke Pines, Florida. She leads in spirit a family who vows to continue her humanitarian efforts and nourish her legacy fueled by compassion and selflessness. Privileged to treasure her memories: a dedicated husband, Willie E. Brown of 36 years; one step-son Terry Golden, one son, Yohance (Ariel) D. Brown; one daughter, Dr. Nairobi M. Brown. Other immediate survivors are her adoring siblings from eldest to youngest: sister, Annie Bell Jefferson of Sparta, Georgia; brother, James (Mary) Lanier Jefferson of Dublin, Georgia; brother, Wesley (Ruby) Jefferson of Radcliff, Kentucky; sister, Dr. Maudine (Earl) Jefferson-Woods of Stone Mountain, Georgia; sister, Gwendolyn (Late Rev. Jimmy Reeves Sr.) Jefferson Reeves of Sparta, Georgia; brother Brady (Sylvia) Thomas Jefferson of Wrightsville, Georgia; and brother Gary Dennis Jefferson of Memphis, Tennessee. The Late Quinton Arthur Jefferson Jr., a brother, and Barbara Jefferson Brooks, a sister, preceded Brenda in death. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and supportive friends will reflect, too, in beloved memories.
