James “Jim” R. Allen, 58, of Lake Jem, FL passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017. He was born in Eustis, FL. He was a graduate of Umatilla High School class of 1976 and attended Mississippi State University, where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He was a shop manager for Lake Jem Farms. Jim was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife: Barbara Allen, Lake Jem, FL; sons: Jamie Allen and Troy Allen, Umatilla, FL; daughter: Brooke Gardner, Lake Jem, FL; sister: Candy Trosper, Umatilla, FL; and brother: Chip (Sandra) Allen, Roswell, GA. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Umatilla with Pastor Travis Lane and Pastor Brooks Braswell officiating.Obituary
