Janet K. Ivins, 91, of Tavares, FL, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2019 with her daughter and granddaughter by her side. She was born on August 31, 1928 in Milwaukee, WI, to her mother, Edna V. Babcock, and father, Ralph W. Knuth. She married the love of her life, Donald A. Ivins in 1954 and they resided in the greater Chicago area, before moving to Waukesha, WI, after their daughter, Donna, was born. Janet was a homemaker and very active in her church. She loved to sew, knit, and crochet. After her husband retired, they moved to Imperial Terrace in Tavares, FL where she became an active member of St. Edwards Episcopal Church in Mount Dora, FL, and served on the vestry, including a term as senior warden and also volunteered on the alter guild. She was a very proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She enjoyed cheering on her Badgers each football season. She was a true-blue Wisconsin girl who loved beer, brats, and the polka. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Ivins Bass of Longwood, FL, her granddaughter, Bethany Grace Gingras of Waco, TX, and son-in-law, Jeffrey F. Bass also of Longwood, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald A. Ivins, and brother, Robert R. Knuth of Albany, NY. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Edwards Episcopal Church in Mount Dora, FL, on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 10:30 am. Arrangements entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home, Umatilla, FL.
