Julian Wilbur

On October 29, 1942 Julian L. Wilbur, his brother in law and his best friend volunteered for the U.S. Aircorps. His final salute was on December 12. 2019. Julian was born on May 26, 1920 in Hartland, Maine to Blanche and Olney Wilbur. He was predeceased by his parents and his sisters: Geraldine Brown (Joe) and Beatrice Lowell (Roger). He was also predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years: June G. Wilbur of Palymra, Maine; and a son: Steven J. Wilbur of Boynton Beach, Florida. Left to honor his memory is his daughter: Susan Wilson (Dennis) who was born at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, Arizona; and his daughter: Cynthia Buffington (Rich) who was born at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, Alaska; his grandchildren: Ashley Wood (Clark), Helena Hubl’ (Radek), April Dotson (J.R.), Ryan Hamby (Morgan), Julian J. Wilbur, and Andrew Wilbur; and nine great grandchildren. CWO-4 Julian L. Wilbur retired from USAF with 26 ½ years of Meritorious Service, serving in the Panama Canal Zone, Itazuke, Japan and many statewide assignments. He was a mason, a member of VFW Post #5440 in Merritt Island, FL, and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite. He will be interred at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Dad lived 99 ½ years of a blessed life and will be greatly missed by all his family.
