Nancy Penn-Shaner

Nancy Ann Penn-Shaner, 87, of Umatilla, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017. She was born in Akron, Ohio. She was a secretary, bookkeeper, and a long distance truck driver. She was a member of the Methodist church. She was a member of the order of the Eastern Star for 62 years, a member of the order of the Amaranth for 50 years, and served on the advisory board of the order of the Rainbow Girls. She was also a member of the Leesburg Women’s Business Club, a member of the Golden Triangle Bowling league, a member of the Lake County Conservation Council and a member of the Anna Miller Circle. She is survived by stepdaughters: Karen Lee Shaner, Indianapolis, IN, Marjorie Shaner, New Hamburg, NY; and 3 cousins. She was predeceased by her two husbands: Alvin Penn and Bill Shaner; and her companion: Anthony Sikorsky. She will be missed by her many friends and Lake County neighbors. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Beyers Funeral Home Chapel in Umatilla with Pastor Brooks Braswell officiating. Donations may be made to Trout Lake Nature Center 520 East C.R. 44, Eustis, FL 32736.
