Patricia Ann Rozelle, Age 85, of Umatilla, FL, and more recently, Fort Lauderdale, passed away on June 4th, 2017 surrounded by loved ones. Patricia Ann Joerger, or Pat to her friends, was born in New York, but spent the majority of her life in Florida and loved the ocean, lakes, sun and community she found there. Pat had three great loves in life, her first husband, Laurance Gay, her second husband, Harry Rozelle and in her later years, Bob Carson. Pat was cherished by her 6 children: Donna Swain, Pat Marino, Laurance Gay, Kevin Gay, Harry Rozelle and Robert Rozelle; and adored by 10 grand-children and 8 great grand-children. Pat was preceded in death by an older brother, Donald Joerger of Long Island, New York. Pat always enjoyed work and had an extensive career that saw 3 major phases as a Medical Technician, Real Estate Agent and Stock Broker. The Stock Market was a great passion and Pat enjoyed watching the ticker tape into her late 70's, this passion of course was rivaled by her love of a well cared for lawn that at one point brought her into conflict with an entire family of armadillos much to the laughter and joy of the rest of the family. She was a life long Republican who contributed with votes, time and energy to the GOP. Pat will be remembered for her kind heart, easy smile, quick wit and even sharper mind. To all those who miss her and want to celebrate her life, there will be a viewing on Thursday, June 8 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Beyer’s Funeral Home, 279 S Central Ave, Umatilla, FL and a funeral service on Friday, June 9 starting at 10AM at Beyer's Funeral Home, 279 S Central Ave, Umatilla, FL. The interment will follow at Pine Forest Cemetery, 900 Donnelly Street, Mount Dora, FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made at ALZ.org or at Floridaelks.org.
