Sara Kennedy

Sara R. Kennedy, 84, of Lakeland, FL passed away on November 20, 2017 with her daughters Katheryn & Patricia, and granddaughter Vickie by her side. She was born in Fairmont, WV to the late Robert and Rebecca Wolfe. She married the late James Kennedy in 1950 and they were together until his passing in 1991, they had 6 children. Throughout the years, she was a waitress, florist, caterer, cashier at her husband’s furniture store but her best jobs were being a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and when she wasn’t doing that she liked traveling, gardening, collecting knickknacks, and listening to country music. She is survived by her daughters: Katheryn Jarvis, Polk City, FL, Patricia (John) Caston, Lakeland, FL, Carol Baker, Zephyrhills, FL; her sons: John Kennedy, Morgantown, WV and Joseph (Julie) Kennedy, Mulberry, FL; 11 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; brother Okel and sister Opal of Fairmont, WV. Along with her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by her son: James. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the Oak Hill Burial Park in Lakeland, FL with Chaplain Michael McCurdy officiating.
