Fred Meek

Fred James Meek, Jr., 58, of Albany passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009 at his home. A private memorial service was held March 24, 2009. Fred James Meek, Jr. was born December 12, 1950 at Camp Lejeune, N.C. to the late Fred James Meek Sr. and Dalmaree “Dale” Cannon Meek. He was self-employed and was of the Pentecostal faith. Fred was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He served in the Vietnam Era in 1969 and received a rifle marksman badge, a national defense service medal, a Vietnam service medal, and a good conduct medal and was a Mack gunner. He will be sorely missed and was very much loved by his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters and all who knew and loved him. Fred we will always love you. Survivors include his wife, Georgette Hinson Meek of Albany; 3 children, Fred Eugene Meek of Tifton, Chase Hinson Meek and Whitney Georgette Meek both of Albany and daughter, Stephanie Lynn Meek of MI.; brothers, Jack Richard Meek and Larry Lamar Meek; two sisters, Phyllis Meek Powell and Maryanne Meek Pelham; 2 grandchildren, Gaberielle Lynn Meek and Leah Hope Meek and several nieces and nephews.
