Charles Melvin Wade

Mr. Charles (Tony) Melvin Wade, Sr., AKA “Hubcap,” age 88, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020, in Cartersville, Georgia. Born November 30, 1931, he was the son of Charles Kinney Wade and Clara Viola McRay Wade. Charles was also preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Mattie Ruth Kilgore Wade. Survivors include his children Karen Wade Rush and Charles Melvin Wade, Jr. and his wife Wendy Wade; grandchildren Melissa Krick, Scotti Blake Wade, Kirsten Wade Vandall, and Matthew Austin Wade; great grandchildren Cashton Isaiah Sharpe, Mattie Grace Wade, and Carter Maverick Wade; brother Robert “Buddy” Wade; sisters Glenda Brown and Ann Pinson, and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Tony served in the United States Navy and was extremely proud of his country. He was a truck driver for 43 years and had retired from Shaw Industries. He loved spending time with his family and watching NASCAR. Reverend G. Leonard Chambers (Nephew) will be officiating at the private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family for beautification of their cemetery landscaping.
