Mr. David C. Hyde, Jr., 55, of Cartersville, died Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at his residence.

There are many things we could tell you about David C. Hyde, Jr. Things like when and where he was born (June 29, 1960 in Louisville, KY), where he went to school (Wheeler High School, U.S. Navy, and Campbellsville College), and whom he left behind (a list way too long to write). What he'd rather you knew is what and who made him who he was till the very end. David has been called courageous, he's changed the lives of many of us, and he loved being here. These are some of the things that will remind many of us of David each time we see or think about them. Jesus, his family, white bread, ice cream, pranks, Jack and Ray, endless hours of television, Chick-Fil-a, clean cars, Tabernacle Baptist Church, his 1988 Chevy s10, the U. S. Navy, Louisville basketball, Waffle House, UGA football, a freshly mowed lawn, Third Day and Casting Crowns, peanuts (in or out of the shell), Good Neighbor Homeless Shelter, speeding, heavy machines, old cars, Johnny Cash, Swheat Market steaks, day break choir kids back in the day, John Wayne movies, Scott's Walk up BBQ, playing cards, Campbellsville cronies, and the list could continue. There is nothing that would have thrilled him more than for the chairs of Tabernacle to be full this Sunday morning at 10:45, and then meet for lunch at the Swheat Market before the memorial service.

There will be a private graveside service at Georgia National Cemetery, and a memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church with The Reverend Dr. Don Hattaway officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Good Neighbor Homeless Shelter, Post Office Box 664, Cartersville, GA 30120 or to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 112 East Church Street, Cartersville, GA 30120, in memory of David.
