Michael Dewayne Moss “Mighty Moss”, 48, of Cartersville, went to his heavenly home on August 11, 2019 at Kennestone Hospital. Michael was born in Rome, GA on February 19, 1971. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Michael became a paraplegic, the result of a car accident in September of 1993. Despite his disability, Michael lived a full life. Michael loved old cars, motorcycles and animals. He was an ace mechanic when it came to small engines. He was known for his knowledge of repairing lawn mowers. Michael also had a passion for helping people. Michael was preceded in death by his beloved Jack Russell, BeCee; his maternal grandfather, James William Howard of Acworth; his paternal grandparents, JB and Dot Evans Moss of Cartersville; his uncles, Leonard W. Howard of Calhoun and Allen “Rocky” Moss of Cartersville; and his cousins, Lexie O’banion and Todd Matthews of Cartersville. Michael is survived by his fur-baby, CoCoa; his parents, Linda Goble (Sammy), and Kenneth Moss (Cozette) all of Cartersville; his sisters, Marty Bigham (Jason) of Tunnel Hill, GA; and Madarha “Boo Boo” Harris of Cartersville; his step-brother, Scot Goble (Jeana) of Rock Springs, GA; his nephews, Robert and Gavin Harris of Cartersville; his niece, Sgt. Katie Bahten (S. Sgt Dave) of Fort Benning, GA; his great-nephews, Ryder Gage Harris and Samuel Ryan Bahten; his grandmothers, Nadine Talbert of Cartersville;, and Francis Howard of Acworth; his uncle, Tony Moss; his aunt, Glenda Dial; and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Grace Baptist Church with Reverend Josh James, Reverend Doug Harris, and Reverend Ralph Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at Grace Baptist Church. Interment will follow at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Sunset Memory Gardens with Reverend Tony Samples officiating. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery on Thursday morning. Serving as pallbearers will be Gavin Harris, Dane Moss, Shawn Greenway, Mike Howard, Jeff Dixon, and Heath Bruce. Honorary pallbearers include Derek Little, Robert Leeper, Jordon Florence, and Max Florence.
