Mr. Richard Charles Sundstrom, 60, of Cartersville passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at his residence. Born on March 15, 1959 in Fitzburg, Massachusetts he was the son of Richard A. Sundstrom and Mary Jane Fairclaugh Sundstrom. Richard served his country in the United States Navy and later went on to be a carpenter by trade. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, watching sports and riding his motorcycles. Richard was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a co-founder of The Depot AA Group in Kennesaw. His passion was helping others. Survivors include his wife, Andrea Sundstrom of Cartersville; his daughter, Tabitha (Joseph) Lewis of Maryville, Tennessee; his son, Alex (Julie) Cate of Knoxville, Tennessee; six grandsons; his sister, Debra O’Neil of Ocala, Florida; and his brother, Michael J. Sundstrom of Acworth, Georgia. A graveside memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with Reverend Joe Nix officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the funeral home.
