Willie Cabe Obituary

Mr. Willie Cabe, Jr., 83 of Cartersville passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Cartersville Heights Care and Rehabilitation Center. Born on February 16, 1936, in Cartersville he was the son of the late Willie Cabe, Sr., and the late Sue Carroll Cabe. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Douglas Cabe. Mr. Cabe served his country honorably in the United States Army with two tours in Vietnam and retired as Sergeant First Class. He was a member of American Legion Carl Boyd Post #42 and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Cabe loved to volunteer his time at Cartersville Medical Center and Meals on Wheels. In addition to being a member of Friendship Baptist Church he served on the Deacon board as well. Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Rose Marie Cabe of Cartersville; his sons, Ricky Lee Cabe (Tammy) of Cartersville, and Randy Paul Cabe (Brenda) of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Kayla Cabe of Seattle, Washington, Tony Cabe (Corrie) of Gulfport, Mississippi, and Jerry Cabe (Stephanie) of Cartersville; his great-grandchildren, Kylee Cabe of Gulfport, Mississippi, Alexius Cabe of Cartersville, Christopher Cabe of Cartersville, and Easton Cabe of Gulfport, Mississippi; his sisters, Hazel Stacey of Cartersville, Faye Jackson of Cartersville, and Penny Cabe of Cartersville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Friendship Baptist Church with Reverend Stephen Cochran and Reverend Charlie Chartier officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Cabe will lie in state at the church from 1:00 p.m. -2:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2019 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of American Legion Carl Boyd Post #42. Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may make memorial contributions in Mr. Cabe’s honor to the Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund, 606 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
