He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Billy Joe Parker; his maternal grandfather: Dewey Wade Dickerson; his maternal grandmother: Sara Davis Dickerson and maternal aunt Diane D. Wagnon. He was born in Cordele, Ga. and was a member of the Cordele First Baptist Church where he was an active member of their youth group in his younger years. Tyler loved outdoor adventure: wakeboarding, jet skiing, skim boarding, and camping. He even recently returned from a short trip up north where he was afforded several days of snowboarding and snowmobiling. Tyler was also a dedicated Georgia Bulldog fan. Besides being an exotic car lover, he was a hard worker. Above all, Tyler adored his family and always looked forward to spending time with them. Tyler graduated with honors from Crisp County High School in 2012. He graduated from Mandate School at South Georgia Tech, interned with the Crisp County Sheriff’s Department, and worked with Ashburn Police Department prior to his employment with the Department of Public Safety as a cadet. After graduating from Trooper School in 2016, Tyler quickly became a dedicated Trooper with the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) as a vital member of Post 30 in Cordele. Tyler fully embraced the life of a Trooper as he volunteered for extra training classes and special details in his first year that took others two or three years to be approved for, according to his many Trooper brothers. Tyler completed the challenging Drug Recognition Expert Course as well as three levels of Accident Reconstruction Courses. He had been approved to attend the Post Instructor Course and he was especially proud of being a member of the Honor Guard team. Tyler was also a member of the GSP Softball Team that played in many charitable events. Tyler was scheduled to receive the MADD Award on April 10, 2018 for the number of drunk drivers he had removed from the road. Tyler, known for his ever-present smile, is survived by his wife: Christy Leigh Parker and their daughter Savannah Grace Parker of Cordele; his parents: Gary and Tina Parker of Cordele; his paternal grandmother: Diane B. Parker of Cordele; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Tony L. (Becky) Brown of Pitts, Ga. and Carolyn P. Brown of Virginia Beach, Va.; and his aunts and uncles: Eric Parker, Kevin (Sheila) Parker and Dickie (Vickie) Dickerson.
