Anderson Watkins Obituary

Anderson John “Andy” Watkins, age 74 of Alto, passed away Monday, November 5, 2012, at his residence. Born in Habersham County on July 19, 1938, he was the son of the late Herman and Lillie Jordan Watkins. Mr. Watkins was the owner and operator of Soque Slaughter and Processing in Clarkesville and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Susan Watkins; grandson, Clinton Swenson; brother, Lamon Watkins. Surviving are loving wife of 56 years, Gwyn Wilson Watkins of Alto; son, Wesley Watkins of Mt. Airy; daughter and son-in-law, Angel & Joseph Timmons of Alto; grandchild, Kathy Ingram; great grandchildren, Jayda & Devin Ingram; sisters, Doris Simmons of Eastanollee and Louette Watkins of Toccoa; brothers, Vernon Watkins of Mt. Airy and Brantley Watkins of Alto. Funeral services are 11:00 am Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Tracy Davidson and Rev. Phillip Yarber officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Tuesday.
