Annie Louise Carpenter Adams, age 96 of Demorest, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2019 after a wonderful life. Louise was born in Cornelia, GA on May 31, 1923, to the late Rev. John Pickney and Elsie Mae Flanagan Carpenter. Family and church were her greatest loves. A day rambling the back roads with her children and grandchildren brought her great joy. A casual invitation to ride and she was ready to go. Having served as WMU Director, VBS Director and Sunday School Teacher while a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and later Level Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Vermon William Adams; son, James M. Adams; brothers, Grady, George, Richard, James (Jimmy), John Jr. and Oscar Carpenter. Surviving include her children and spouses, John “Bill” & Claudine Adams of Cornelia, Jerry & Linda Adams of Demorest, Glenn & Sherry Adams of Mobile, Alabama, Tom Adams of Athens, Nancy Adams of Demorest; Seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; sister, Jane Carpenter Henson of Suwanee. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm, Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in Demorest City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the service hour on Wednesday at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made to Gideons or the charity of your choice.
