Billy Wayne "Bill" Gerrells

Billy Wayne “Bill” Gerrells, age 62, of Cleveland, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020. Born on December 2, 1958, in Demorest, he was a son of the late Herman Lamar and Bessie Lou Pilgrim Gerrells. Mr. Gerrells enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, and sports, especially football and baseball. He not only loved his nieces and nephews, but also enjoyed spending time with them. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Gerrells, and brother-in-law, Erwin Ash. Survivors include his brothers: Richard Gerrells of Cleveland, Dan Gerrells of Cornelia, and Ed Gerrells of Tennessee; sisters and brothers-in-law: Lillie Ash of Mt. Airy, Molly and Jerry Johnson of Cleveland, and Sara and Scott Payne of Cleveland; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Garvis Kinsey officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm on Sunday, at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. The family requests that those in attendance wear a mask and adhere to the public health and social distancing guidelines regarding COVID-19.
