Obituary for Bonnie Sue Irvin

Bonnie McNabb Irvin, age 88 of Demorest, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012, peacefully at her residence.
Born in Towns County on August 5, 1923, Bonnie was the daughter of the late Olen and May Smith McNabb. She worked as a seamstress and homemaker and was a member of Habersham Baptist Church.
In her spare time, Bonnie enjoyed cooking, making ceramics and spending time with her family and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Arvil W. Irvin; daughter-in-law, Glenda Ayers Irvin; and son, Arvil Douglas Irvin.
Surviving family members are son, Kenneth Irvin of Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Tony & Cathy Irvin of Demorest; brother, Loyd McNabb of Demorest; brother and sister-in-law, Jay & Rachel McNabb of Banks County; sister, Gracie Traywick of Banks County; grandchildren, Delaine & Marty Blazek of Naperville, IL; Lori Beth Irvin of Demorest, Todd & Ashley Irvin of Mt. Airy, Wesley & Michelle Irvin of Clarkesville, great grandchildren, Jonah, Noah, Micah Blazek and Woods Irvin.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Bonnie’s caregivers Lucille Nations, Rita Holcomb, and MaryGail Juengel for all their love, hard work and extra hours.
Funeral services are 11:00 am Friday, July 20, 2012, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Dr. Don Drawdy and Rev. George Dean officiating. Interment will follow in Fairfield Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 pm on Thursday.
