Carl Cook

Carl Cook, age 85 of Alto, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017. Born on December 11, 1931 in Alto, Georgia, he was a son of the late B.W. and Lessie Wade Cook. Mr. Cook was the owner/ operator of B and C Volkswagon Repair. He attended Alto Congregational Holiness Church and Bethel Temple Congregational Holiness Church. Mr. Cook was hardworking and enjoyed camping, traveling and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roscoe Cook. Surviving are his wife Elizabeth Ann McEntire Cook of Alto; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah & Carson Crocker of Alto; sons and daughters-in-law, Benny & Lisa Cook of Cornelia, Mitchell & Annette Cook and Anthony & Ruby Cook all of Lula; grandchildren, Michelle Canup of Alto, Greg Cook of Macon, MaKesha Murphy of Southport, North Carolina, Pamela Carnes of Cornelia, MaKayla Holcombe of Alto, and Brittany Cook of Lula; 11 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby & Dottie Cook of Alto, Arthur & Laverne Cook of Mt. Airy; sister and brother-in-law, Beatrice & Ronnie Cantrell of Alto; sister-in-law, Mandy Cook of Alto; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm, Sunday, October 22, 2017 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Scott Ledbetter and Rev. Anthony Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Alto Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Gateway Health and Rehab for the care they provided for Mr. Cook.
