Mr. Carroll Jerome Irvin, age 85, of Mt. Airy, Georgia, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019 in Demorest, Georgia. Mr. Irvin was born February 22, 1934 in White County, Georgia to the late Clint Telford and Gladys Lee Hogan Irvin. Mr. Irvin was a U. S. Airforce veteran, a self-employed farmer, a member of the Antique Car Club and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. In addition to his parents Mr. Irvin is preceded in death by brothers, Curtis Irvin and Tommy Irvin; sisters, Brenda Smith, Shirley Worley and Karen Gilstrap. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Hilton Irvin of Mt. Airy, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Robin Irvin of Mt. Airy, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Chet Barrett of Mt. Airy, Georgia; four grandchildren, Andrew Irvin and wife Hannah, Austin Irvin, Jessica Martin and husband Casey, Kyle Barrett and wife Bryce; two great grandchildren; brothers, Ernest Rogers of Homer, Georgia, Dennis Rogers of Lula, Georgia, Roy Rogers of Lula, Georgia and Jerry Rogers of Lula, Georgia; sisters, Linda Allen of Maysville, Georgia, Gail Rylee of Lula, Georgia and Delease Carlan of Baldwin, Georgia. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 22, 2019, from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home with Reverend Chris Webb and Reverend Anthony Shore officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2- 4 pm and 6-8 pm on Tuesday.
