Charles C. Sherwood, Jr. (Cam), age 44, of Cornelia, GA, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Born at Habersham County Medical Center, Demorest, GA on October 04, 1966, and a lifelong resident of Habersham County, Cam is the son of Jacqueline Heard Sherwood and Charles C. Sherwood. He was a former employee of Sherwood Clinical in Demorest, GA and Gemperline-Sherwood Realty in Cornelia, GA, where he was office manager. Cam was a member of the Habersham County Jaycees and a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church where he served on many varied work areas. On Wednesday nights he delivered meals to shut-ins from the Cornelia United Methodist Church Kitchen. Cam was a devoted fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, NASCAR, and the Habersham County Raider Football Team where he served as manager/trainer for four years and received a scholarship to Georgia Southern College to be a football manager/trainer at that school. Cam was ebullient in nature, valiant in illness and a constantly loyal friend. Cam loved everybody he met and – everybody loved Cam. Survivors include mother, Jackie H. Sherwood of Cornelia; father, Charles C. Sherwood, of Cornelia; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa Sherwood Nakayama and David Nakayama of Boston, MA; nephew and wife, Chad and Heather Orr; great nephew, Cody Orr; several extended family members also survive. He was the grandson of the late Ruth and Aubra Sherwood of Oxford, GA and the late Elizabeth (Baby) Heard and Joe Heard of Covington, GA. Funeral services are 2:00 pm Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Cornelia United Methodist Church with Dr. Jay Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at 5:30 pm at Covington Cemetery in Covington, GA. The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm on Friday evening in Stewart Fellowship Hall at Cornelia United Methodist Church. The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted. In lieu of flowers; donations may be made to the Cornelia United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 948, Cornelia, GA 30531 or to Habersham Central Raiders Football Booster Club, 171 Raider Circle, Mt.
