Cynthia Ann Gibson, age 47, of Alto, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014, at her residence. Mrs. Gibson was born in Onieda, New York on March 5, 1967. She was a member of Riverbend Baptist Church in Gainesville where she sang in the choir. She was employed as office manager with Byrd’s Storage. Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by a brother Michael Root. Survivors include husband, Phillip Dennis Gibson of Alto; parents, Ed and Donna Duggan of The Villages, Florida; sister, Dierdra D. O’Rourke of Westfield, Indiana; brothers, Todd E. Duggan of Williamsburg, Virginia, Sean P. Duggan of Malta, New York and Ryan Root of Schenectady, New York; maternal grandfather, Richard Nichols of Keeseville, New York; paternal grandmother, Virginia Root of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Memorial services will be held 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Riverbend Baptist Church, 1715 Cleveland Highway, Gainesville, Georgia 30501 with Revs. Matt Wethington and Maxey Ladd officiating. Inurnment will follow in Newcomb Cemetery in Newcomb, New York at a later date.
