David Michael Allen

David Michael Allen, age 71, of Toccoa, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021. Born on November 2, 1949, in Demorest, he was a son of the late Henry Grady and Julia Mae Hopkins Allen. Mr. Allen was in law enforcement for 21 years and retired from Banks County as a Deputy Sheriff. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters. Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law: David Neal Allen of Louisville, KY, Michael Corey Allen and Jandon of Alto, and Eric David Allen of Toccoa; daughter, Rebecca Julia Allen of Miami, FL; grandchildren and spouses: Melinda Christine Hillberg and Brandon, Noah Allen, Brittney Shields and Benjamin, Connor Allen, and Zadie Pitts; great-grandchildren, Haven Hillberg and Aurora Hillberg; brothers, George Allen of Toccoa and Doug Allen of Clayton; sister, Mary Smith of Athens; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 13, 2021, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Rice officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the service hour on Saturday at the funeral home. Those in attendance are asked to adhere to public health and social distancing guidelines regarding COVID-19.
