DEBORAH COLE BAKER, age 56 of Mt. Airy, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 19, 2015. Born in Demorest, Georgia on February 05, 1959, she was a daughter of Christine Chavers Cole of Mt. Airy & the late Robert S. Cole. Ms. Baker was a food service worker at Piedmont College for many years, where she was loved by all of the students and staff members. She had an angelic voice and enjoyed singing. Ms. Baker was a very hardworking, loving mother of two children, Ryan & Alexis. She was also a very doting "Nana" to her only grandchild, Cole. She was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Mt. Airy. In addition to her father, Deborah was preceded in death by her son, Ryan Alden Baker and a brother, Randy Cole. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her mother, Christine Chavers Cole of Mt. Airy; daughter and fiancé, Alexis Baker & Rico Stargell, grandson, Cole Stargell, all of Atlanta; sisters and brother-in-law, Annette Cole of Mt. Airy and Katrina & Terry Dorsey of Cornelia; brothers, Robin Cole & Wayne Cole, Sr. both of Mt. Airy; companion and best friend, David Hugh Stewart of Mt. Airy; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, & a host of friends. Homegoing celebration services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Oliver Dorsey, Senior Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery in Mt. Airy. Ms. Baker will lie in state at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour on Thursday.
