Della Taylor

Della Whitworth Taylor, age 96 of Demorest, passed away August 27, 2012, at her residence. Born in Rabun County on August 22, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Earlie Carson Whitworth. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening and was survived by five generations. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry A. Taylor; daughter, Julie Taylor; son, Wayne Baker; sisters, Essie Lovell Watts, Zona Lovell and Ada Scroggs; brother, Ezburn Whitworth. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Faye & Milas Anders of Eastanollee; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry & Shirley Taylor of Mt. Airy, Norman Baker of Clarkesville and Rick Taylor of Demorest; daughter-in-law, Jean Loggins Baker of Cornelia; also numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews survive. Funeral services are 4:00 pm Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Tommy Childress and Rev. Paris Whitworth officiating. Interment will follow in the VFW Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 on Tuesday. McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home of Cornelia (706/778-8668) is in charge of arrangements.
