Dorothy Bramlett

Dorothy Bramlett, age 94 of Demorest, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Habersham Medical Center. Born in Habersham County on July 5, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Essie Carpenter. Mrs. Bramlett retired from Ethicon after 35 years of dedicated service and was a member of Demorest Baptist Church. Her treasure was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed bird feeding, watching sports, and attending Ethicon retirement group outings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Nelson Bramlett; daughter, Sandra Lee; sisters, Louise Sanders and Marie Carpenter; brothers, William Carpenter, Phillip Carpenter and Clifford Carpenter; grandson, Brian Lee. Surviving are daughter, Gail Moore of Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Tolbert & Barbara Bramlett of Cornelia; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; brother, Lee Carpenter of Cornelia and James Carpenter of Union Point; special sister-in-law, Mary Ell Palmer of Demorest; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Dr. Tom Mewborn and Dr. Brian James officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 pm on Tuesday. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
