Dorothy "Dot" Beaty Poole Obituary

Dorothy “Dot” Beaty Poole, age 92, of Cornelia, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020. Born on May 18, 1928, in Wilkes County, she was a daughter of the late Cornel Hampton and Alma Kelly Beaty. Mrs. Poole assisted her husband with watch making at Time Service. She enjoyed flowers, spending time with her family, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Cornelia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Beulah Head and Grace Wilbanks. Survivors include her loving husband of 73 years, Gene Poole of Cornelia; sons, Tom Poole and spouse, Marcus Young of Honolulu, HI and Rick Poole of Waipahu, HI; grandson, Riverson Poole of Waipahu, HI; great-grandchildren, Hayven and Aveyah; and sisters, Glenda Craven of Macon and Katherine Farris of Tucson, AZ. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm on Monday, December 14, 2020, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. James Gunn and Rev. David Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the service hour on Monday at the funeral home. Those in attendance are asked to wear a mask and please adhere to the public health and social distancing guidelines regarding COVID-19. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Cornelia, P.O. Box 96, Cornelia, Georgia 30531.
