Dorothy Kinney

DOROTHY WELBORN “DOT” KINNEY, age 85 of the Hollywood Community, Clarkesville, GA passed away on Friday, April 05, 2013 at her residence following a brief illness. Born in Rabun County, GA on March 27, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Clemson & Icie Giles Welborn. Mrs. Kinney was a member of the Hollywood Baptist Church and was retired from Piedmont Automotive as an inspector. She enjoyed canning, flower gardening and camping in her spare time. She was also an avid rook player and was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Cecil Kinney; nine brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Frank M. Kinney, Hollywood Community, Clarkesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy & Phil Ivester, Hollywood Community, Clarkesville; Pam & Jerry Brooks, Lakemont; sons, Morris Kinney, Turnerville; Benny Kinney, Hollywood Community, Clarkesville; brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Ruth Welborn of Eastanollee; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 pm Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the Hollywood Baptist Church with Pastor Don Samples and Pastor Scott Westmoreland officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Saturday.
