D.W. Armour

D.W. Armour, age 74 of Demorest, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017. Born in Hall County, Georgia on December 31, 1942, he was a son of the late Dee and Vadie Thomas Armour. Mr. Armour was a retired maintenance worker with Fieldale Farms with 14 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling with his dog Patch in his pickup truck. Mr. Armour was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen Oliver Armour; brothers, Howard and William Armour; sister, Williree Watkins. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Bishop Armour of Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Greg & Carol Armour of Alto; daughter, Carol Williams of Demorest; grandchildren, Adam Armour, Anthony Armour, Victor Williams and Sasha Williams; great grandchildren, Keley Armour, Levi Armour, Mason Armour and Cooper Armour; brother and sister-in-law, Fay & Sue Armour of Toccoa; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betsy & Hoyt Wade of Alto and Judy & Bob Clark of Mississippi. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm, Sunday, September 17, 2017 in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Jacob Armour officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Alto. The family will receive friends from 3-5 pm and 7-9pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
