Eddie Thomas Chambers

Eddie Thomas Chambers, age 73 of Mt. Airy, Georgia passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at the Habersham Medical Center.

Born in Mt. Airy, Georgia on June 17, 1942, he was a son of the late Austin & Sarah Payne Chambers. Mr. Chambers was retired from Mount Vernon Mills and of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed raising chickens and traveling to the mountains.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Roy Chambers, Jim Chambers, Connie Chambers, and sisters, Susie Chambers Holland, Emma Chambers Singleton, & LaVaughan Chambers.

Survivors include his son, Tony Edward Chambers, granddaughter, Heather Chambers, & former wife, Dorothy Gibbs Chambers, all of Mt. Airy; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives & friends.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 02, 2015 at the Welcome Home Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Benfield officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
