Edna Coley

MRS. EDNA MATHESON COLEY, age 87 of Alto, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 17, 2013. Born in Alto, Georgia on April 28, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Frank & Vera Shirley Matheson. Mrs. Coley was a member of the Calvary’s Cross Baptist Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Coley was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Corbin “Cobb” Coley; son, Charles Everett Coley, sisters, Sylvia Wright and Mary Frances Matheson. Survivors include daughters and son-in-laws, Beverly & Ray Holcomb of Baldwin, Gwen & Clyde Ivester of Alto; son, Melvin Coley of Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, Reggie & Alicia Coley of Clarkesville, one sister, Ruth Cook of Alto; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Wednesday, March 20, 2013, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Garry Garrison officiating. Interment will follow in B. C. Grant Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 and 7-9 pm Tuesday. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 195, Baldwin, GA 30511or to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011.
