Elizabeth Carr Obituary

Elizabeth King Carr, age 93 of Mt. Airy, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014, at the Oaks at Scenic View. Born in Habersham County on August 7, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Ernest King and Mamie Batson King. Mrs. Carr was a member of Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church where she was previously a Sunday School Teacher and enjoyed working with the youth groups. She also enjoyed singing, playing the piano, sketching, and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Carr; brothers, Lee King, Rev. Neil King, Marley King, and Charles King. Surviving are sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce & Bill Adams of Clarkesville and Evelyn & David Peek of Hollywood; also numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 3:00 pm Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Pastor Johnny Johnson and Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Monday.
