Erwin T. Bennett

ERWIN T. BENNETT, age 66 of Homer, passed away Monday, September 10, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Bennett was born in Banks County on September 18, 1945. He was a truck driver with Walpole and Curt’s Towing having been known as “Hip” or “Vern.” Mr. Bennett enjoyed riding four wheelers, watching NASCAR, football and UFC fighting. He was a member of Line Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Brenda Jean Bennett. Surviving are wife of 36 years, Peggy Chambers Bennett of Homer; sons and daughters-in-law, Eric & Casey Bennett and Joey & Kimberley Bennett all of Homer; son, Mitchell Bennett of Cleveland; daughter, Tammy Sissum of Cleveland; parents, Noyl & Paralee Wade Goodson of Alto; sisters, Linda Hix and Claydean Coker both of Alto; grandchildren, Bryce & Jace Bennett, Ayden & Adalynn Bennett, Candice, Paige, Layla and Kerry and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services are 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Line Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Benfield and Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
