Eulene Murphy

Eulene London Murphy, age 89 of Cornelia, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017. Born in Barberton, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Thomas L. and Viola Barrett London. Mrs. Murphy retired from the Administration Department for the GA Department of Corrections. She also retired from Wal-Mart and was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and being with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Murphy was a member at New Hope Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Clifton Kay; brothers, Carl London and Thomas B. London; sister, Ellora Montgomery. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah & Jeff Fain of Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, Les & Lecia Murphy of Cornelia; daughter, Valeria Brewster of Homer; brothers, Rev. Verner London, Douglas London and Maylon London all of Cleveland, Charles London of Demorest, Lamar London of Lavonia; sister, Imogene Kimbrell of Cornelia; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm, Thursday, March 30, 2017 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Denver Kimbrell officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children by mail 2900 N.
