EVA MAE STEPHENS ALEXANDER, 86 of Cleveland, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, September 01, 2015 following an extended illness. Born in Cleveland, Georgia on August 31, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Jesse & Ella Tomlin Stephens. Eva Mae was a retired poultry farmer and a member of the New Bridge Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, but most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Laymon "Brother" Alexander; sisters, Eunell Tench, Delores Blair, brothers-in-law, William Hembree & Herbert Tench. Survivors include her daughters, Wanda London, of Cornelia; Sandra (Zach) DeLay, of Cleveland; brother & sister-in-law, Garland & Ellen Stephens, of Maysville; sister, Winnie Grace Hembree, of Cornelia; grandchildren, Laura Roberts, of Cornelia, LaWanda Bolsius, of Texas, Zachary DeLay and Heather Swann, both of Cleveland; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 04, 2015 at the New Bridge Baptist Church in Cleveland with the Rev. W.A. “Dub” Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 4 p.m. & 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday.
