Henry F. "Red" Holbrook Obituary

Henry F. “Red” Holbrook, age 89, of Mt. Airy, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019. Born in Mountain City, Georgia on February 25, 1930; he was a son of the late Jess and Melissa Smith Holbrook. Mr. Holbrook served his country in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant. Red enjoyed woodworking, helping others, supplying the community with firewood, and calling square dancing. He was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church and a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Frances Loudermilk Holbrook and son-in-law, James Garrison. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survivors include his daughter, Gail Garrison of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and William Craig of Mt. Airy; grandchildren: Crystal Garrison, Cale Garrison, and Ronnie Craig and wife, Terena; and great-grandchildren: Bryce Craig, Caden Garrison, Brentley Craig. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 pm on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Austin Kelley and Mr. Eddie Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
