Henson Reeder

Henson Burnett Reeder, Sr., age 84 of Baldwin, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013, at his residence. Born in Oneco, Florida on October 21, 1928, he was the son of the late Ralph Henson, Sr. and Rossie Mae Burnett Reeder. Mr. Reeder was a self-employed cattle farmer and a member of Antioch Baptist Church, where he was the treasurer for the men’s Sunday school class. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren and was a member of the Georgia’s Cattleman Association. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Nina Genevieve Reeder; daughter, Betty Kesley; great-great grandson, Hayven Beckett; brother, Ralph H. Reeder, Jr. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Henson Burnett, Jr. & Jaci Reeder of Demorest; daughters and sons-in-law, Nina & Daniel Skinner and Lynda & John Forrester all of Toccoa and Tina & Kevin Pasley of Cornelia; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sister, Lois Allen of Bradenton, FL; brothers, Benjamin C. Reeder of Bradenton, FL and Hiram Shelton Reeder of North Carolina. Funeral services are 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Monday. McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home of Cornelia (706/778-8668) is in charge of arrangements.
