Homer James Stephens

Homer James Stephens, age 87, of Cornelia, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2019. Born on July 10, 1932, in Alto, he was a son of the late Lon Bart and Lillie McClellon Stephens. Mr. Stephens was self employed in septic system installation for many years. He attended Antioch Holiness Church in Lula for many years. He enjoyed going to church, fishing, helping others and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stephens was also preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Pauline Conrad Stephens and a son, Joe Stephens. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Stephens of Cornelia, Debra and Kenneth McClellon of Cornelia and Kim and Jerry Cook of Alto; son, Stacy Stephens of Cornelia; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; special friend, Lee McClellon of Cornelia. Funeral services are 2 pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at Antioch Holiness Church in Lula with Rev. Jacob Armour officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. An online guest register is available and may be viewed at www.mcgaheegriffinandstewart.com.
