Isaac Kenneth Ferguson

Isaac Kenneth Ferguson, age 70, of Cornelia, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015. Born on December 7, 1944, in Clarkesville, he was the son of the late William Grady and Hazel Head Ferguson. Mr. Ferguson was retired from Ethicon and attended Chattahoochee Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran who loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren. To his buddy, Lamar Parker, “I hereby relinquish my position to you as mayor of Pea Ridge.” In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Sue Wood. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Bruce Ferguson of Cornelia and Brad and Amanda Ferguson of Cleveland; grandchildren, Mason Ferguson of Cleveland and Derrek Ferguson of Cornelia; brother-in-law, Bud Wood of Cornelia. Funeral services are 11 am Saturday, September 12, 2015, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Chris Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, the Habersham County American Legion Post #84, the Rabun County DAV Chapter #15 and the U.S. Army National Guard. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday and Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chattahoochee Baptist Church Building Fund, 7905 Duncan Bridge Road, Cleveland, Georgia 30528.
