MRS. JEAN GARRISON MURRAY, age 92 of Lula, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 04, 2012 at her residence. Born in Lula, Georgia on March 21, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Dock B. and Inez Massey Garrison. Mrs. Murray was a life-long resident of Lula and was the Valedictorian of the Class of 1937 at Hickory Flat School. She worked in quality control at Chicopee Manufacturing for over 35 years now known as Johnson & Johnson. Mrs. Murray was a member of the Antioch Fire Baptized Holiness Church and a member of the Johnson & Johnson Retiree Association. In later years, Mrs. Murray was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening with flowers, and was famous for her coconut cakes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Edd Murray, brothers, Alta Garrison, Roy Garrison, sisters, Evelyn Griffin, Dixie Griffin, Mary Garrison, sister-in-law and husband, Bobbie and Jay Hayes. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-laws, Kathryn & Artis Haynes, Carolyn & William Carpenter, all of Lula, GA; grandchildren, Tim Haynes, Myra & Dwayne Roberts, Amy & Roger Keebaugh, Angie & Bradley Ledford, Chris & Carrie Carpenter; great-grandchildren, Lauren & Scott Gaddis, Sydney Haynes, Roger Lee Keebaugh, Sarah Keebaugh, Will Ledford, Wes Ledford, Kailey Holmberg; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Sue & Billy Meeks, Lula, GA; sister-in-law, Francine Garrison, Union City, GA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 07, 2012 at the Antioch Fire Baptized Holiness Church with Bro. Derrell Corn and Rev. Gary Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Jacob Armour officiating at the graveside. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 9 p.m. on Wednesday and from 3 until 5 p.m. & 7 until 9 p.m. on Thursday.
