Jimmie Lou Hendrixson

JIMMIE LOU HEFNER HENDRIXSON, age 73 of Ft. Worth, Texas and formerly of Mt. Airy, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014. Born on November 23, 1940, in Habersham County, she was a daughter Edward L. “Dick” Hefner and Emma Lou Harris Hefner. Ms. Hendrixson was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sons, Tim Pitts and Adam Hendrixson; infant sister, Maxine Hefner; and brother, Henry Hefner. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Lisa & Keith Dockins of Mt. Airy; daughter, Lera Hendrixson of Mt. Airy; sisters, Frances Hefner Stagner of Mt. Airy, Mable Hefner Stephens of Fort Worth, TX; brother, Edward Hefner of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Ben Dockins of Sautee-Nacoochee and Jennifer King of Mt. Airy; great grandchildren, River Dockins and Trey, Tinsley, and Ty King; also a host of nieces, nephews, foster children, and other family members and friends. Funeral services are 2:00 pm Sunday, May 18, 2014, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in Welcome Home Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Saturday, May 17, 2014. An online guest register is available and may be viewed at www.mcgaheegriffinandstewart.com.
