John Dill Obituary

John Henry Dill, age 76 of Alto, passed away Wednesday, May 08, 2013, at The Oaks at Scenic View. Born on September 20, 1936, he was a son of the late Hershell and Estelle Mote Dill. Mr. Dill was a self employed logger and was of the Baptist faith. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors and working on cars. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dill was also preceded in death by a daughter, Katie Chambers Henson; a great granddaughter, Angel Beth Batson; and a brother, George Omer Dill. Survivors include wife of 38 years, Sylvia Mae McEntire Dill of Alto; daughters and sons-in-law Shirley and Lindsey Manning of Demorest and Linda and James Loudermilk of Toccoa; son and daughter-in-law, John Mitchell and Mary Lou Dill of Alto; sisters, Ethel Irene Hunnicutt of Cornelia, Leona Butler of Mt. Airy, Annie Wiley of Clarkesville and Betty Smith of Mt. Airy; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial services are 6:00 pm Thursday, May 09, 2013, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Sanford Kimbrell and Rev. Dennis Wade officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Alto Baptist Church, 210 B.C. Grant Road, Alto, GA 30510.
