John DiPino

John Alexander DiPino, Jr., age 86 of Cornelia, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017. Born in Bridgeville, PA on December 24, 1930, he was the son of the late John “Giovanni” and Elizabeth Pennetti DiPino. Mr. DiPino spent two years serving his country in the Korean War and a total of 40 years of service with the National Guard. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Mr. DiPino enjoyed yardwork and gadgets. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Zoey Patricia Ann DiPino; sister, Mary Elizabeth DiPino Antonelli. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Jackie Sloka DiPino of Cornelia; daughters and sons-in-law, JoAnn & Wayne Morgan of Carrollton, Judy & Jimmy McQueen of Monroe, and Jean & Charles McCullough of Royston; son and daughter-in-law, John Alexander III and Tamara DiPino of Duluth; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren. Funeral Mass is scheduled for 11 am, Friday, April 21, 2017 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church with Father Jose Luis officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the funeral home.
