Lattrella Scott CORNELIA, Georgia Obituary

Lattrella Scott

Mrs. Lattrella Mattox Scott was born May 17, 1935 to the late James Pope and Gertrude Mattox in Cornelia, Habersham County, Georgia. She had five siblings, one of whom preceded her in death (Georgia W. Mattox). She was united in marriage to the late John Ervin Scott, and they continued to live in Cornelia where they raised one son, Victor Lamar Scott, Sr. Mrs. Scott attended and graduated from Cornelia Regional High School in Cornelia, Georgia where she developed a love for knowledge and a desire to become a professional beautician. Consequently, she attended and graduated from Apex School of Cosmetology in Atlanta, Georgia. Thus, she became a cosmetologist rendering services in her own community. She was a community-minded person who loved sharing with both family and friends. She was well-known in the community and was loved by those who knew her. God and church involvement have always been a driving force in this servant’s life. She was a faithful member of Israel United Methodist Church for many years where she was involved in ministries and church activities. In later years, she joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Mt. Airy, Georgia where she remained active and faithful until the Lord called her home. At Ebenezer, she was a member of the Women’s Ministry. She was faithful in her stewardship. Her faithful dedication is a testimony to her love of God and His people. On Saturday, April 30, 2011, God called His faithful servant from labor to reward at Habersham Medical Center. God called and she answered. She was ready to be offered. She knew that the time of my departure was at hand. Lattrella fought a good fight. She finished her course. She kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:6. She is now resting in the bosom of Jesus. Mrs. Scott leaves to mourn her sunset: ONE CHILD (son), Victor Lamar Scott (Lequeda); FIVE GRANDCHILDREN, Latonja Scott, Victor Lamar Scott, Jr., Ke’essence Scott, Talia Ewell, and Jarred Carter; SIX GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, Daiveyon Stephens, Amyia Scott, Kaylan Scott, Paten Carter, Daijah Carter and Logan Canada; FOUR SISTERS, Charlie Mae Banks, Jean Gloria Gober (Lafayette), Sally Mae Brown (Tim), and Peggy Burgess; a host of nieces and nephews; a special “friend,” Catherine Anderson; a special “family,” M.
