Linda Lee Woods Whitlock

Linda Lee Woods Whitlock, age 61 of Baldwin, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017. Born on January 18, 1956 in Decatur, Georgia, she was a daughter of Louise Hudson Harris and the late William Meredith Woods. Ms. Whitlock served in the U.S. Forest Service and was a retired educator, having worked for Banks, Hall, and Habersham Counties as a teacher and as a school counselor. She loved her students, family, and friends and took great joy in helping others. She also loved her barn and her animals, and was an accomplished horsewoman, having ridden horses all over the world. Survivors include her husband, Bobby Whitlock; son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Courtney Hinson of Hendersonville, North Carolina; mother and stepfather, Louise and Jimmy Harris of Alto; step-son, Cody Whitlock of Maysville; step-daughter, Bree Whitlock of Maysville; sister and brother-in-law, Diane Woods and Sam Huff of Kennesaw; other extended family and friends; beloved dog, Mercy and favorite horse, Jack. Memorial services are 11 am Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Tates Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Jerrell Beatty and Rev. Jim McLendon officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the Linda Whitlock Memorial Fund for a Special Cancer Patient, c/o Habersham Federal Credit Union, 420 West Louise Street, Clarkesville, Georgia 30523.
