Margaret Elmina McCoy McDuffie, age 76, of Homer, GA, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 06, 2011, at her residence following a sudden illness. Born October 22, 1934 in Jackson County she was a daughter of the late Willie Thomas and Lizzie Lucille Crane McCoy.She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and a former employee of Carwood Manufacturing.In recent years she was a homemaker.In addition to her parents Mrs. McDuffie was also preceded in death by her husband, Leon McDuffie; a sister, Lois Slater; brothers, Roger, Otis and Wayne McCoy. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Edwinna and Wayne Holcomb of Homer; daughter, Vickie Hunter of Homer; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathy McDuffie of Clarkesville; son, Kenneth McDuffie of Alto; sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Sammy Hart of Commerce; brother-in-law, Clifford Slater of Commerce; 17 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Douglas Duncan, Rev. Donald Wade, Rev. John Webber and Rev. Roy Lee Mitchell officiating.Interment will follow in Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm and 7-9 pm on Tuesday and 6-9 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. The family is at the home, 2497 Samples Scales Road, Homer, GA 30547.
