Margaret McLaughlin Obituary

Margaret F. McLaughlin, age 92 of Cornelia, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at Habersham Home. Born in Blundale, Georgia on February 18, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Leon and Julia Estelle Bramlitt Fulghum. Mrs. McLaughlin was a homemaker and enjoyed reading. She grew up attending the First Baptist Church of College Park, was active in her Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of East Point and previously attended Douglasville Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas McLaughlin, whom she married on September 19, 1941. Mrs. McLaughlin was a loving mother and mother-in-law to Kathy & Rick Erwin of Cornelia, loving grandmother to Kimberly Bowles Smith and Frankie John Weber; loving great grandmother to Ashley Nicole Weber, Courtney Marie Weber and Ethan Connor Bowles; loving sister to Nell Martin and also to several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 11:00 am Saturday, December 1, 2012, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Graveside services will be held 3:00 pm Saturday following the Chapel service at College Park Cemetery, 3600 Adams St, College Park, GA. All family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery at 2:45 pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Friday. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the Habersham Home East, 541 Historic Hwy 441 N, Demorest, GA 30535. McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home of Cornelia (706/778-8668) is in charge of arrangements.
